I am a settler of Finnish and British descent, living as a guest on unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh lands. I come to craniosacral therapy from my life as a professional dancer and artist - bringing my awareness, creativity and embodied anatomy studies to sessions. As a craniosacral therapist and person living with overlapping chronic conditions, I align myself with a social model of disability and continue to work to undo my internalized ableism and the pressures of the wellness industrial complex to “fix,” “heal” or “cure.” I believe our bodies have an innate capacity to move towards balance and that we need not only one on one bodywork to do this but access to safety, shelter, food security, basic income, and networks of community care. I find this work both anatomically precise and spiritually awe-inducing and am honoured to be supporting students as an assistant tutor for BI.
